It can an emotional and personal experience when it comes to dating online. However for those who are using the service correctly, the US government are now sending warning to help Americans stay safe online. There are thousands of individuals everyday who are being scammed online through dating websites. This might be in the form of 'fake' individuals and profiles who are supposedly looking for love, or through websites charging membership fees and other types of products.
More extreme cases have been found where individuals were convinced to pay for airfares and other travel documents for the assumed 'love of their life', not realizing the money is being used for others things. This is a common way that many individuals have been scammed.
