5 Ways to Stay Warm on a First Date
Filed in archive by Kathryn Vercillo on December 20, 2007

Winter is upon us and the air is chilly. You wish that you had someone at home with you to stay under the covers with but that's not the case. Instead of moping about it, get online and find the person who might be able to fill that spot under the blankets. Here are five ways that you and your new date can stay warm until it's time to get into bed together:
- Drinks at a bar with a fireplace. Many cities have a bar or two that has a fireplace at the center of it. The flickering glow of the fire will warm your heart and your body as you get to know someone new.
- Bake together. For safety's sake, you'll want to do some screening before you invite anyone over to your home. However, if you meet first at the grocery store to pick up some items and gauge the situation, you can spend the afternoon doing some holiday baking. It'll warm your kitchen and your soul.
- Get your blood flowing. Exercise together either outdoors or at a gym. You'll build a new bond and get your body all heated up.
- Candlelit dining on a heated patio. Whether it's at a restaurant or a private residence, if you've got candles and warm heat along with the outdoor air, you're all set for a warm evening.
- Cuddle. If the date goes well and you're not ready for it to end, consider wrapping up for some on-the-couch cuddling. You don't have to go any further than the two of you agree upon but this can be a terrific way to warm up to someone new.
Question of the Day: What other ways are there to get warm on a first date?
