Online Profiles
by Kathryn Vercillo on February 12, 2008

There was an article last week about online dating which discussed it from the perspective of daters in their fifties and sixties. At one point, the article mentioned that the woman who was waiting at a restaurant for her date to show up didn't know what he looked like. And that leads one to wonder ... are online dating seniors less likely to concern themselves with photos than someone in their twenties who is online dating might be?
Those of us who engage regularly in online dating generally figure that a picture is a prerequisite to getting an in-person date. We're suspicious of people who post profiles without photographs and most of us are too cautious to meet someone in public if they refuse to at least email a pic. If the same is not true for older people who are online dating, is it because they aren't as concerned about looks or is it because they aren't as at much risk of danger when dating online?
Question of the Day: At what age do you think people stop caring about looks and start caring more about the character of a person they want to date?
