Are You Being Deceived Online?

Filed in archive Dating Issues on December 23, 2009

Dr. Jeffrey T. Hancock of Cornell University's department of communication and faculty of information science was interview recently by the National Science Foundation. The topic? Deception on internet dating and social networking sites.

Would you believe it? People on dating sites and social networking sites aren't always completely honest about who they are. Hancock discusses a variety of topics related to deception online. Some of my favorite topics included using out of date (10-year-old) photos and fudging on personal details (like weight and height).

The interview is almost half an hour long. It's enlightening and informative.
