Bringing Gifts on a First Date

With online dating becoming more and more prevalent among all age levels, many people have gotten used to going on first dates. In fact, the average individual goes on more first dates in his life than ever before in history. And that's changed some of the first date rules that used to be in place. For example, do you bring a gift on a first date?

Men used to regularly bring flowers on a first date. However, that's not always the best idea if you're meeting at a bar and then going out dancing. What's she going to do with the flowers that she's now got in hand? It's a nice gesture that ends up being uncomfortable in many ways.

And yet, some men do want to return to the old gentlemanly ways of the past. And most women do appreciate that. So what should you do?

Bringing a small gift is nice. It has to be something that's inexpensive in case the date doesn't pan out. And it has to be something that can easily be slipped in a purse in case the date continues. Chocolates, a small souvenir or a piece of cloth or hemp jewelry would all work.

Question of the Day: Do you bring anything on a first date?
