Christmas weekend is a terrific weekend to go on a date. It gives you a chance to have a bit of romance this holiday season while still leaving Christmas Eve and Christmas Day free. This means you can keep plans with the friends and family who have played such an important role in your life without having to miss out on the fun of holiday dating.



Here are some Christmas weekend date ideas you might want to try:



- Looking at the Christmas lights. If you know someone from online well enough to feel safe in their car, go for a late night drive to look at the lights sparkling on houses in neighborhoods near you. This brings out the magic of Christmas and gives you ample time for conversation. If you don't know anyone well enough for that, you can meet in a shopping district or busy neighborhood and walk around to see the lights.



- Christmas baking. Again, if you've gone on a few dates with someone from online and you're comfortable with being alone in a house with them, take advantage of the chance to do some holiday baking together this weekend. Chocolate is an aphrodisiac after all.



- Shopping. You both probably have some gifts left to buy before Tuesday so why not do that shopping together? It sure beats battling the crowds on your end. Keep the stores you go to at a minimum so that the time is enjoyed rather than stressful.



- Ice skating. What a terrific winter date! There are ice skating rinks set up all over the nation right now so get out there and get your shaky legs into the dating pond.



- Meet for hot chocolate. If you're going on a date with someone new, forego the usual coffee date and get hot chocolate instead. Even if it's not your normal cup of tea, it's something holiday-ish that will make the weekend feel more special.



- Explore something from your past. Yes, the past can be loaded but you've got lots of great memories that you can share with someone you're dating. Christmas is a time for a little nostalgia. Go do something that reminds you of a time you loved. It might get even better when it's re-visited with a new date.
