The best way to get an in-depth understanding of what online dating is like is to jump in and do it yourself. The second best way to gain this kind of insight is to read the personal stories of those people who have explored online dating and are writing about it to share their experience with others. If you're interested in the latter option - or if you're just something of a voyeur and want to peek into the online dating experiences of someone else's life - then you might be interested in a multi-part article written at The Daily Northwestern.
The article series is called "My month on Match.com" and it details exactly that - a month in the life of a woman who is exploring her romantic options on this well-known dating site. Part 2 of the series is up now and gives a glimpse into a situation in which This Woman ran into one of her online chat buddies in a bar before they'd actually planned to meet up. The author is smart and witty and easy to read so her story is both enjoyable and informative.
Question of the Day: Do you often read other people's online dating stories?
