There's absolutely nothing wrong with joining one of the mainstream online dating sites like Yahoo! Personals or Match.com, in fact it's a great way to get your feet wet in the online dating arena.



Beyond the mainstream sites you may want to think about also joining a specialized site, one that caters to people of particular religions, ethnicities, or unique interests. It's a great way to get one of your dating deal breakers off the table.



If you have enough time you can even try the two-pronged approach. Join one mainstream site and one specialized site to meet even more prospects.
