If you're of the Mennonite faith and are interested in finding someone who shares those beliefs with you, you might not usually look online. Then again, if you've stumbled across a blog posting about online dating, there's a good chance that you might be thinking about seeing what the Internet can offer to you. If that's the case, you might be happy to find out that there's a site specifically designed for you.

MennoMeet is an online dating site which is designed to bring people of the Mennonite faith together. It's not a group that's going to let you browse before deciding to join - you have to sign up (at the link above) to be allowed access to the other people on the site. The idea is that if you're a Mennonite seeking a date of the same faith, you'll be able to find someone on the site. If you're just trolling for something to amuse yourself, you'll at least have to bother to sign up first.

The site launched back in August. There was an article earlier this month in the Bethel College Collegian which described what dating on the site was like. Not too surprisingly, it was like online dating an any other site. Just being of the same faith doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to have enough in common to be interested in dating each other. Just like with everyone else, the Mennonites on MennoMeet have to weed through profiles and emails to make a match.
