December Date Idea: The Theatre
Filed in archive Date Ideas by Kathryn Vercillo on December 18, 2007

There are plenty of different "first date" places that you can go this holiday season. December is filled with events and attractions. You might even just meet a date for a warm cup of hot chocolate or an afternoon of shopping. But if you're looking to do something that's nice but out-of-your-ordinary, consider attending the theatre. Most local and large theatres do something special for the holiday season so you get to enjoy the merriment of the month while also indulging a fun date experience.
Before choosing a theatre event to attend with your date, you should think about what type of tone you're trying to set. Are you looking for a lighthearted evening? If so, consider going to a play that has comedy at the heart of it. If you're looking to put a sexy spin on the night, see if there's a holiday burlesque show
in your area. If you want something warmhearted, try a more traditional Christmas play that has nostalgic undertones to it.The theater date makes a great first date because it's more unique than a movie but has that same basic date flavor to it. You can get dinner first and then head to the theater or you can do the play and then drinks afterwards since it will give you a topic for conversation. It's just a little bit more special which is something we could all use more of during the holidays.
Question of the Day: What type of play do you think is best for the holiday season?
