Do Nice Guys Really Finish Last?

I loved this article about the man who feels nice guys never get the girl. I've met many "nice guys" in my dating adventures. At least, they told me they were nice. But they either acted as if we were going to get married the next day or they weren't so nice.

One guy I met online told me that women don't want nice guys, and when I assured him they did, he argued with me. Then he said, "I'll be you won't want to meet me." I told him I did want to meet him. He said, "You'll probably end up dumping me like every other girl out there." ("Out there" being the world of dating, I assumed.)

On a Monday we agreed to meet via email. We set a place to meet on Friday, and I told him I would touch base with him again later in the week to confirm the time. When I logged in on Thursday to tell him what time we should meet, I already had a nasty message in my inbox telling me he "knew I would turn out to be one of those girls" who didn't want a nice guy. He asked me what I was "pulling on him" and told me to go to hell.

Whew. Nice guy....

As it turned out, I thanked him for showing his true colors before we even had a chance to meet. But I wonder how many other guys are walking around telling women how nice they are, and behaving like jackasses?
