I always write back that proving you're right in a given situation is so much less important than finding common ground and understanding each other's perspective. If all you care about is winning every argument I'll bet you're not a great listener. That's a recipe for relationship disaster.
So spend a little less time trying to win and a little more time focused on compromise. That approach will inch you closer and closer to a healthy relationship.
