Does Internet Dating Really Work?

It seems today that we hear so many stories about Internet fraud when it comes to online dating, we forget how helpful the web has been in connecting singles. I often think the people that complain about Internet dating the most are the ones who either haven't tried it or didn't really give it the proper amount of time.
Internet dating certainly worked for me. And I was happy to see it worked for these couples as well. I also appreciated the balanced view the reporter gave this story. The Internet is a great tool for introducing singles, but you still have to do the work of emailing and meeting several people before you meet the right one for you.

Yes I think it can.. and did for me, I have now married my long time internet b'friend from England. However, I think it takes a lot of work, Just Like "Real-Life" Dating! In my experience, the problems I encountered in my internet dating life were very similar to those I had experienced in my personal dating life. It wasn't till I recognized and changed some things about myself that romance was successful.

Thank you for posting this. People think Internet dating will just magically bring someone to your door, and it won't. You've still got to do the hard work. Your insight is right on! (And congrats on your wedding!)

Internet dating works. Online dating can be simple and easy to browse various people that interest you. I think online dating can be so successful that I created a new free online dating service called http://www.myzog.com.
Online dating can be especially successful for people who are new to town or haven't had the best luck in finding a date. I have a number of friends who are attractive and successful but find it hard to meet someone. I have found myself in that same situation before where it has been months and months and I haven't met anyone! But when we take the plunge into online dating we are usually successful in finding someone we like. Lastly, in "cold" cities, like Seattle, people seem to be afraid to break out of their personal bubble but on the inside long to meet someone. Online dating, like with our new service myzog.com, can really help.
