Does Size Matter?

One of the things that often comes up on this blog is the issue of size, or more specifically, the issue of weight. The conversation is usually had in relation to online dating profiles and the pictures that we place on them. The fact of the matter is that most women want to post the pictures that make them look five pounds lighter because, well, they wish they were five pounds lighter. And men, too, try to post their most flattering pictures because we all know that a beer belly isn't going to be particularly attractive to a girl surfing profiles online.

But what about the other side of the equation? Most often, we worry that our size is too big … but what of those people who worry that their size is too small? In a blog post over at Kiss and Blog last month, the author admitted that she had gone on a date with a guy who was just too small. He was nice, he was sweet, he was interesting … but he was, to borrow her term, diminutive.

She makes the point that when a man hugs her, she wants to feel like a girl. Being bigger than your date can make that difficult. I'm a petite chick myself but when I happen to encounter the rare guy who is short and thin and weighs less than me … I always feel a little thrown off by the hugs. So what do you think? Gals, would you date a guy who was significantly slighter than you? And guys, how do you deal with gals that are bulkier than you are?

    size does matter.

Personally I’m not fond of “bigger” women and I think many women tend to lie about their weight.

(men usually lie about their height)

but I think we just need to be honest with ourselves as to what we really want.

Size doesn’t matter on http://plusmingle.com, because most members are plus-sized or adore larger people. Women who join plusmingle are obviously larger women. Men who join obviously dont have an issue with size. Everyone knows where they stand. Everyone can focus on finding their ideal match based on the quality that counts most – personality.
