Expect New Dating Sites After Next Week
Filed in archive Dating Sites by Kathryn Vercillo on January 25, 2008

You can expect to see a whole slew of new dating sites crop up after next week. That's because there is going to be a big auction of online dating domain names taking place at a conference in Florida. When those domain names get bought up, many of them will quickly turn into new sites. That could mean that you'll have a new place to go in order to try finding a match online.
The auction is part of the convergence of two different conferences happening in Florida next week. The Social Networking Conference and iDate 2008 Miami are both happening in the same area and will have some pieces in common. On the 31st, the auction will bring the two events together. Domain names that are expected to draw a lot of interest include MalibuSingles.com, TopMen.net, and Bachelor.com.
Of course, not everything that's bought will immediately be turned into a dating site. But you should find that at least a couple of new locations have cropped up where you can post your profile and see if others are interested in learning more about you. New sites are always a little slow to get started but you can get in on the ground floor and help shape many of them if you're interested in making some effort as a user.
Question of the Day: Would you consider buying a domain name yourself for use as a blog or other personal dating site?
