Ever had feelings for a friend?

It stands to reason that if you've got a best friend of the opposite sex, and you spend enough time with him or her, you might at some point develop feelings. But there's always a danger in telling your friend that you like them. Or even love them.

I liked the advice that this person received when asked how to handle a situation such as this. On the one hand, life is too short to be in love with someone without at least telling them. On the other hand, if you value the friendship you have you also don't want to do something that will ruin for your bond.

If you find yourself in a situation such as this, I would also recommend that you tell them. Why not? Even if they don't feel the same way, you will always regret it if you don't at least bring it up. However, go slowly. Don't make a big announcement to declare your love, but test out the waters a bit first. If your friend doesn't feel the same way, do your best to put your friendship first. Don't hold it against them or try and change their mind.
