Five Steps to Great Online Personals

How many inhabitants does your city have? That times 45 per cent equals your local competition. Imagine one of the best dating portals. They have tens of millions of singles, most of them male. NOW THAT'S competition. How can you win? Simple. Stand out from the crowd. In real world you can't do that, because you can't do a line-up with all your competition. In dating sites you can.
Step one: No photo, no chance
You gotta have a photo. A REAL ONE. Not Brad Pitt's, Not "Your Good-Looking Brother"'s. Not mine:). A real photo of yourself. Actually, you CAN scratch a zit or two, with a little help from the photo-editing software of your choice , but now don't do plastic surgery, because too much "make-up"would most likely spoil it.

Step two: Not just any photo, not just some other guy.
Don't go for that police-file-like front-picture.
Take your camera wherever you go, especially in fun, hot places and USE it. Have lots of photos with your cute or wicked smile on them and then use as many as you can in building your profile on the site where you place your online personals. Remember, your photo is your best ad.

Step three:Write your ad
Try your hand at writing a good personal ad.Check out your competition for a looksee but never copy them. YOU can always do better. If you are reading this, you're one step of your competition already.More on writing a succesful ad here.

Step four: Go public!
If your profile isn't a public one, no one can search for you. If no one can searc for you, no one will find you. If no one will find you, nobody will ask you for a date. After all, isn't this why you subscribed to the online dating site in the first place?

Step five: Keep track…
…with the news, the online events and the trends. Check up this site often or, better yet, signup for the best dating news and reviews :)
