If you and your partner are thinking about having a kid together, consider a pet first. You'll learn about responsibility and caretaking without all the Pressure of raising a kid forever.
Think of it like a parental test drive. You can learn all about feedings, care taking, doctor visits, etc., before you ever have to do it for real as parents of a new born.
So master pet sitting first before you go after the big one… raising a family.
