Get Hitched With Mamma Mia

As a kid, I loved abba. I'll admit that I even have their greatest hits album. They were the first pop group to take their songs and string them into a Broadway musical, and a few years ago, I finally got to see Mamma Mia!. It was a fun show where you just sat back and sang along with the songs.
Now I see they are making a movie out of the Broadway show, and offering a unique way to get married besides.
Which is why I mention it here. As with all things having to do with love and dating, if you've got the inclination to get hitched, this could be a fun way to do it.
IKEA is hosting a big ole wedding event in conjunction with the opening for Mamma Mia! the movie for twenty lucky couples. You can get a free reception, entertainment, cake, and even a justice of the peace. The ceremony will be at IKEA in Burbank, California on July 17, 2008 (a day before the release of Mamma Mia! the movie). For an added bonus, couples will receive a gift card, some other prizes, and a ticket to the movie (of course.)

That is the strangest thing I have ever heard! Then again, I’m not a fan of musicals, or ABBA for that matter. However, the IKEA cross-promo sounds pretty cool I must say.

Getting married at IKEA?!? I don’t think so… Neat idea but this one is not for me!
