How Much Does Money Matter In Dating?

It's long been said that the things couples fight most about are sex and money. There's no denying that sex is an important factor in the dating relationship. But how important is money?
Very important, it seems, at least if the sheer number of dating sites out there that are money-specific are any indication. There are sites that are just for people who are professionals with a good income looking for someone in the same boat. There are sites that are for people who are in debt and looking to meet others with the same problem. And of course there are plenty of sites for those people who are seeking someone to financially support them (or someone to support).
Does this make sense? On the one hand, people's life approach tends to be indicated in large part by their approach to money. People who are carefree in life tend to be carefree about money as well. People who are goal-setters are financial planners. People who play with power may use money in that power play.
But on the other hand, money is only one factor in a set of many factors that make up who we are. Do you want to rule out your dating options based on this one factor? Some people don't think much about their date's income but draw the line at him not having one. So, maybe we all have a money line that we don't cross.
