Jewish Organizations Use Online Dating for Making Matches

There are some people to whom the religion of their partner doesn't matter. However, for most people with a strong foundation in religious faith, a relationship is made easier when the other person shares that same faith basis. For people of the Jewish faith, it is often very important to find someone who shares their beliefs. In fact, it has long been a part of the jewish culture for families and religious organization to play a significant role in the matchmaking between young Jewish couples.

Those families and organizations are now turning to the Internet to make it easier to make these matches. The most popular site for Jewish people, JDate, doesn't require any sort of "proof" of Jewish background. But there are a number of organization-affiliated sites that are cropping up which do check out the background of their members to make sure that a true Jewish partnership is being formed.

Question of the Day: Is religious affiliation a consideration in who you'll date?
