One of the biggest Steps any couple can take is to open joint accounts together. It's a sign of trust and commitment. It puts you in the same boat together when it comes to your financial future.
That doesn't mean every last penny needs to be in one account. It's perfectly okay if each of you keeps a little play money in separate accounts. It's even better if this money goes for surprise gifts for the other person.
You'll still be an open book when it comes to finances while keeping a little something aside for spontaneity and personal enjoyment. Every couple can benefit from that!
