It's easy for one piece of constructive feedback to quickly escalate into a fight. Why? Because the receiver of the feedback often gets defensive, fires back, and next thing you know you're both going all out.
Remember, criticism is not the time to throw in the Kitchen sink. If something is bothering you, by all means say it, but don't let other stuff leak into the argument. Keep your point focused and clear. That's the best way to prevent all-out fights when a minor disagreement arises.
