Love and Marriage Over 45

If you're over 45 and want to find love (and marriage), what's the best way to do it?

A study from USA Today says online dating is the best option to find love and marriage after age 45. Why? When you get older, you're not in the same social groups you were in during your 20s. You go to work, care for your elderly parents, see your friends (many of whom are married or in established relationships), and you do your hobbies (running, Yoga, book club, etc.) Your busy, to be sure, but you don't meet anyone new. And that's the key to finding the right person.

The article states that, "In 1990 only 0.4% of woman and 0.6% of men married for the first time between the age of 45 to 49." However, "13% of those who wed in 2003 were 45 and older."

So if you're over 45 and think marriage isn't in your cards, it's time to change your approach! The article states that "Match.com reports an increase of 10% of new members since 2005 who are over the age of 45 and never have married. Currently this demographic makes up 14% of their members. Yahoo! Personals also has seen an increase of 33% in this demographic for 2006 and 2007."

That means there is someone just like you wondering why they haven't met the right guy or gal yet. My suggestion? Log on!
