Make Sure Your Name is on Your Christmas Shopping List

You're single and the holidays are here. For some people, that's no big deal. For others, it can be a source of serious depression. Most people feel somewhere in the middle about it, realizing that there are both good and bad things to being single during the holiday season. For those people, the best thing to do is to try to maximize the joys of the holiday by enhancing those things that are great about not being attached to someone during the Christmas holidays.

One of the best things about being single is that you don't have to worry about purchasing a gift for a significant other. Take that another step and you realize that the money you're saving on Christmas shopping for someone else could be going to buy a great gift for yourself. You get the things that you want for the holiday and have an excuse to celebrate being single.

To really make the most out of this, you should get yourself a whole set of goodies this holiday season. You don't have to spend a fortune. You can get a few things that make you feel sexy and special and a few things that are practical for you. You can even get some things that will help you do better in the dating scene so that you might not be single next holiday season.

Things to put under your own tree this year include:

- Something sexy. The gift itself will be different for each person. New sexy underwearlinks, the expensive detailing for your car, the satin sheets that you kept thinking about buying. Whatever makes you feel sexy all on your own should take primary place under this year's Christmas tree.

- Something sweet. Literally. Everyone needs to indulge so get yourself your favorite treats. A box of chocolates, a bottle of wine or a collection of favorite candies should suffice to stuff your stocking.

- Something huggable. A teddy bear, a new body pillow, a puppy; you need something you can squeeze.

- A webcam or digital camera. If you're doing online dating, you want to do your best at it. Get yourself the right tools so that you can communicate your image to the people you're interested in bringing to next year's Christmas dinner.

- An online dating upgrade. If you've thought about signing up with a dating site that's more expensive than the free ones you usually use, make Christmas your excuse for doing so.

Just because you don't have someone to buy you the gifts that you really want this year doesn't mean that you have to go without them. Take advantage of the fact that being single means you've got more money to spend on yourself. Happy Holidays!

Question of the Day: What do you really want this year but don't want to have to buy for yourself?
