Matches with Disabilities Signals Worlds Merging

A few weeks ago it was announced that Disaboom, an online community for persons with disabilities, was acquiring Lovebyrd, a dating and social networking site for the same community. There are many different specialty dating sites out there but this merger speaks to a new trend in combining those niche sites with relevant other sites to meet the total needs of persons in that niche community.
In other words, it used to be that persons with disabilities would go to certain sites to get information, network regarding resources and find updated news. They would go to other sites to meet people with disabilities for potentially forming a romance. Now, the two worlds have merged so that all of that is offered under one online roof. It's the trend of the online community to be offering social networking, information and romance all in one place. Come to think of it, it's starting to look a lot like the offline world!
