NET IMPERATIVE -- Apr 4 -- Online dating has grown by more than 30% since December 2005 with nearly ten million unique users seeking partners online during February 2006. The figures, from Internet research firm ComScore, indicate that the UK online dating market grew 30.9%, representing 9,495,000 unique users across the industry in the month of February alone compared with only 7,254,000 in December. In terms of brands, DatingDirect.com was the most visited site according to ComScore, with more the one million (1,054,000) unique users per month, an increase of 159,000 increase since December. The figure accounts for a 11% of the industry's total. Yahoo! Personals was the second most popular service according to ComScore figures, with 846,000 unique users per month, followed by Loopylove.com (764,000 unique users), and Match.com (762,000) networks. ComScore Europe provides regularly updated online measurement figures within the Internet industry by measuring both monthly unique visitors and daily figures on an unduplicated basis.
