If you're going to start the year off right, it's always good to set some goals. At the very least, this helps you focus for a little while on what you want for your life. - Be more selective but less judgmental. These two things seem to oppose each other but they go hand-in-hand if you consider them a two-step process. First, be more selective in who you choose to have conversations with online. Make a list of the qualities that are really important to you in a date and don't waste your time with people who don't seem to have those qualities. Once you do go on a date, be less judgmental while you're there. It doesn't really matter that he's wearing an ugly polka dot tie or that she seems taller than her profile said.



- Go to new places. If you're always meeting at the same coffee shops, restaurants and bars to have a first date then your first dates probably all seem the same. Use dating as an excuse to try new things and to go places that you haven't been before.



- Be kind to yourself. When getting ready for dates, do you eye your appearance carefully and worry about what to say? Be less hard on yourself. - Have fun! Dating doesn't have to be about stress and marriage goals; it can just be fun. Approach it that way and the year should go well.
