More often that not, people are disappointed with the results that they achieve through online dating. Usually this is due to some combination of the site and the user. People don't find the sites that are right for them or don't figure out how to use those sites to their best advantage. Sometimes people's expectations are too high or sometimes poor site management leads to a lack of control on the site. But those complaints aren't just something that gets griped about over drinks; they're increasingly leading to reports of bad conduct being handed over to the Better business bureau.
The BBB reports that they have seen a rapid increase in the number of complains that they get about both online dating sites and online matchmaking services. These complaints range from poor customer service and aggressive sales tactics to being discontent with the types of people that were met through the match. While some of this is surely the responsibility of the online dating site, a lot of the problems can be mitigated through smart use of the right sites.
A seasoned online dater can tell right away if the person who just winked at them is likely to be married, fatter than their picture or lying about a criminal background. And someone who has been on a lot of sites can tell which new ones are worth more than just a second glance and which are trying to sell you something rather than help you find romance. All it takes is a little time and experience on the sites and a whole lot of common sense. Until then, you can continue to report your concerns to the BBB.
Question of the Day: What would cause you to report an online dating site to the BBB?

I've tried a few sites, and one, hornymatches.com, is the worst. After recieving winks, I decided to try it and paid for one month, and then contacted the winks i had recieved. Well...most of them wanted to chat online, but the site does not have a messenger service, so i sent them my email addy, and asked they email me to start with. I noticed that pretty much every response I got then, was to communicate on the site. I have been prompted to stay with site by these 'winks'. Even after saying I only had one month, they insist I stay. Now these are supposed to be the clients of the site, and WANTING to chat. But insist I stay on the site to chat? One message takes two days for a response. many that i sent out, did not even get a reply. The site when I had asked, said, many get lots of email, and that many, although showing online, merely leave their computer on that site and running. Poor attempts for explanations. I have stayed on and will til my month is up, but have been trying to warn as many as i can about it. Hopefully this will help me do it.
