If you have the time and energy, joining two online dating sites is a great way to experiment with your profile. You can use each site to put forward different aspects of your personality, and see which gets more hits.
Remember, this is not about lying. You do want someone to love the real you. But you can certainly write one profile more playful, and one more serious.
