So, What's a Date?

I came across an old but interesting piece by Bonny Albo that asks the simple question, What is a date?A large number of the emails I receive from readers ask me to define what a "date" is. If the guy at work asked me to coffee, is it a date? We hang out almost every day, but haven't kissed yet - are we dating?
Whether you're raising teenagers or trying to get back into the social scene yourself as a middle aged adult, it's not always an easy question to answer.
Bonny had some interesting thoughts on the topic.

but seriously does it matter if it qualifies as a date? i think people put too much pressure on themselves these days...and for the people that are still unsure? just ask. i wouldn't be offended at all.

i think everybody is i little bit nervous in these situations. But isn´t it likeable. i hope that the other guy is not that cool in a situation like that!
