Staying with a Depressed Person
Let's say you want to break up with someone and they hit you with "please don't end this relationship, I'll spiral downward into a deep depression." Wow, that can be tough to hear. Sure you want to end the relationship, but your goal is never to cause this much pain.



So should you stay in the relationship just to avoid this side effectlinks? Absolutely not! You'll be making matters worse if you stay in a relationship when your heart is not into it.



But if your ex-partner really does go downhill fast, you can at the very least help them get some professional assistance to deal with their feelings.
