Does dating from a iPhone or Blackberry change people? Skout (a geographically aware mobile dating service) surveyed some of its customers recently and published its findings. TechCrunch has a story on the survey.Skout, a social dating service with a strong mobile component, decided to conduct a study to see how hesitant people are to make the move from mobile messaging to in-person meetups.
The company surveyed 1000 of its users 20-30 years old, with an even gender split.
Over half of the survey's participants said they'd met up in the real world with someone they got in touch with over the web. Some 69% of survey participants said they were "comfortable" with the idea of a face-to-face meeting.
The down side? One in five people surveyed said they were using the dating app to hook up even though they already had a significant other...
