The Drink is From that Gentleman ... on the Other Side of the World?

One of the most classic ways to pick up a woman in a bar is to either send over a drink via the bartender or to ask if you can buy her a drink. One of the most modern ways for a gal to pick up a guy is to do the same. But things are getting even more modern than that now that technology is coming in to play. You can now offer to a buy a drink for a date ... online!



So far it's only happening widely in Boston and New York but this is a service that I can see spreading. The name of the site through which you buy the drink is BuyYourFriendADrink.com; basically you just buy them a drink gift certificate which is sent via email and text. This is moving directly into the dating world since the site just partnered up with HurryDate, an online and Speed dating site. HurryDate members can easily click a button on the site now to send a drink to someone they're eyeing online. Count me in; a drink is better than a wink any day!
