Dating in the 21st Century has changed a bit. Check out the Modern Guide to Dating, an article by Mark de la Viña which appeared in the San Jose Mercury News.

We now have the Escape Plan date, where a friend calls midway through on your cell phone to give you a chance to opt out of the date.
