The Panic Years

I love, love, LOVED this book by Doree Lewak called The Panic Years. I think every woman can relate to that time in your life when suddenly all your friends are married and having babies and you seem to be left out.
It's like some secret club, where suddenly you're not cool enough to enter. With me, I couldn't even call up someone without them going on and on about their engagements and mothers in law to be without hearing, "You don't understand right now." It was bad enough to listen to their "happiness" but then to get the condescending tone in addition was too much. I wondered if my pals had lost their mind.
Anywho, get out this description from the author's website:
" The Panic Years mark the point (usually around your twenty-sixth birthday) when your dating agenda fundamentally changes-from dating for a fling to dating for a ring. Suddenly your newly married friends feel more like enemies, weddings become mocking reminders of your own single status, and you contemplate going on a reality TV show to find true love. What's a girl to do?"
Now, the book, in addition to being quite cute and funny, gives useful tips on dating and getting married yourself. If you're into that sort of thing, the book acts as a tool to help you out. Even if you're not looking to get hitched, it's an entertaining read that great for those 20 and even 30-somethings who feel left out of the "recently engaged" club.
