I don’t doubt that they are a profitable company. I am a dissatisfied member. They told me several times prior to signing a contract that they had numerous matching members currently available to meet. I joined and promptly received data on a matching member but decided to meet other members and requested info on the next matching member. Then I was told that there were no other available members and regardless of what I was told the contract states member referrals will be made on an as-available basis. If they had not lied to me and had indicated that there were few, or actually only one matching available member, I never would have joined. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau for assistance and so far the Right One has not replied to my letter or to the BBB.
As a consumer I suggest you avoid this company. I also see that there are numerous complaints filed with Consumer Affairs.

I signed up over two years ago and I’ve gone on three dates.
I was sold on the following LIES:
1) We have “tens of thousands” of women in your area. – BS
2) We match you with people based on your criteria. – BS
3) We work with you one-on-one. – BS
I’ve been matched with a woman TWICE who had more children than I allowed in my criteria. I rejected her the first time and a month later they tried to tell me that this SAME EXACT GIRL was a “new match” for me. Pathetic.
My account has been mishandled so poorly that there is no way these people can even tell me which office I’m supposed to be matched out of from month to month. That’s IF you get through to someone who knows what the HELL is going on. Had they told me that there were NO members in my area, I would not have signed up. But they said there were tens of thousands, yet the CLOSEST match I’ve received was an hour and a half away. What a crock of horse manure. PLEASE do NOT sign up with these people. If you don’t sign up because of this, let me know @ togetherdatingsucks@yahoo.com.

The article should rephrase it to read the “fastest-growing scam in the country.” They suckered me, too. Once I have completely paid them off, which they did “conveniently” set up on monthly payments (believe me, they will do whatever it takes to get you to sign the contract, even if they have to set you up on a scheduled payment plan), I will never seek their services again. And I will take great efforts to help prevent others from being swindled by this hoax of a company. After you have signed their contract, there is no way out, you must finish paying your dues regardless of whether or not they hold up to their side of the bargain. Obviously, they do not have to fulfill their part of the bargain. I have been promised 12 referrals and out of which I have only received 2 in just over a year (and one was really FAT and nothing like I requested for my referrals). They will give you every line in the book to blow you off when you call them about how long it is taking them to send you a referral. They are playing with you and your money. Trust me when I tell you that you will never be happy with them. Every referral I have had spoke negatively about their services and now so do I, rightfully so. They are only growing because they are scamming most if not all of those unsuspecting people who fall into their trap. If you think that you are smart and cannot be swindled by this scam-company, think again. It can happen to you, too. I also reported them to the BBB and they did not reply to my claim, and not surprisingly so. I have lost a lot of money to this scam but learned my lesson and now I am going to use my angst to fuel my constructive blogging to help those soon-to-be suckers like me. I wish I would have done some research on this company before I signed their contract. Do not make the same mistake I did, at least read up on this company first and contact your local Better Business Bureau to find out how many complaints have been filed against them and then how many were answered and/or resolved. Then make your decision…but know this, there are no refunds and you will be responsible to pay the full amount of which you signed for on your contract. So, haha, the joke was on me and will be on you, too, if you sign.

STAY AWAY! Once they get your phone number they will call you non stop! I filled out something online thinking I was creating a free profile. I received about 15 or 20 calls over a 2 month period. I figured they’d get the hint if I didn’t call back, but guess one should never assume. They got me today, called me from a private number. When I told David, from together dating I wasn’t interested, he proceeded to tell me I was rude and I wasted his time and this was his 15th call. I told him he should have given up after the 3rd call and I hung up. Then he calls back, and leaves me a message! This is the best part. The below URL is David from Together Dating:

I had the unfortunate opportunity of working for The Right One in Dallas as a marketing agent. (This particular franchise is also responsible for the Colorado Springs, Denver and Salt Lake City locations) Throughout my employment at The Right One I realized that this company was a scam. They have a database of leads that are in some cases 2 years old. We would be responsible for calling people over and over again as if we were a bill collection agency. I personally think that it was borderline harrassment because when someone asked to no longer be contacted we would still have to call them. I never once contacted anyone that was a member of The Right One that enjoyed the service that they had received. Constantly I would hear from people that they never matched them even after they had spent over 3000 dollars for a membership. Daily we would be bombarded with marketing “meetings” where the owner of the company, Ted Law, would come in and scream and yell at the managers that we were not producing enough. There were times where managers and employess alike would be nothing but a puddle of tears as they left the office due to Ted Law cursing them and telling them that they were worthless. This company is all about the bottom dollar for the owner, he has no care in the world about finding you that special someone. The office is also responsible for mass hiring and firings. After doing the math its more economical for the company owner to hire a bunch of people make them set appointments and fire them for no other reason than not having to pay out on commissions or wages. The saddest part about this company is that you can feel that you are in ways stealing from people. I had to talk to widows that were living on a fixed income that would cry over the phone wanting to have some glimmer of hope that we could find someone to just be a friend, in the back of my mind I knew that we were just going to take what little money she had and never set her up with anyone. Overall, I would say BEWARE! This particular franchise is not something that you want to get invloved with! Please, if you are reading this wondering whether or not to go in to find the love of your life, DO NOT GO! You will have less money and nothing to show for it. This is not a business of finding the perfect match, they could care less, they just want your credit card number. Trust me, I worked there.
