The Two-Cheat Rule

I get tons of questions at About.com about cheating boyfriends, girlfriends, and spouses. People always ask me if they should forgive the cheater or work it out.
Some people believe anyone can make a mistake and others believe once a cheater, always a cheater. I'm a big fan of the two-cheat rule. If your partner cheats once and you really love them then give it a shot and try to work it out. Sure it will take a long time to rebuild trust, but it just might be worth it.
However, if they cheat again, just walk away. Now you've got a pattern and you're setting yourself up for a lifetime of disappointment. You just don't deserve it!
