Top 10 Cities for Singles

According to a press release put out last week which summarized the findings of a Forbes survey, these are the top ten cities in the United States for single people this year:

1. san francisco Bay Area

2. New York City

3. Los Angeles, CA

4. Atlanta, Georgia

5. Chicago, IL

6. Washington, D.C.

7. San Diego, CA

8. Seattle, WA

9. Dallas - Fort Worth

10. Philadelphia, PA

Based on the list, we can see that where singles like to be right now is in relatively highly populated urban areas. This makes sense since these are the cities that offer a lot of activities for young people and a number of methods for meeting other single people. It's also interesting to note that singles seem to prefer the state of California this year since three of the major cities there made the top ten list.

I happen to think that the list is right on, but I suppose that I'm biased since I live in San Francisco. What do you think? Are there other cities out there that Forbes was wrong about?
