Bonny Albo over at About.com's dating site published a useful list of the top dating sites a few months ago (October, I think). I'm not sure what criteria she used, but it's a decent list…
Top of the heap on her list is OkCupid – a free site that mixes some social networking in with the normal dating stuff. eHarmony gets its fair share of publicity. Lavalife, Plenty of Fish, and Match.com round out her top five. She mentions a couple more sights. And she summarizes their services.

Datopia, found at http://www.datopia.com, has launched a revamped site which integrates social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, AIM and Flickr into the dating profiles.
