Where Does the Money Go?

Let's say you and your partner recently merged bank accounts. You now have your financial futures tied together. Opening joint accounts is a great first step. It shows trust in each other and a belief that you'll make it together over the long haul.

But there's more to managing your money than just joint checking accounts. When do you want to retire? How much do you want to save each year? How much money will go to wants versus needs? You've got to answer these questions if you want to actually manage your money… not just merge your money.

So start treating your money seriously and make a game plan together. Five years from now you'll be amazed how fast your financial future can take shape.

The common financial future of me and my life mate is the least of my concerns, because if two people love each other, there can be no misunderstandings.
