Why Be Friends?

Why Be Friends?
I hear this all the time... I don't want to risk the friendship. That's something that typically comes from someone who has been Friends with another person for a long time, but deep down they really want to be more than friends.

I get asked all the time whether it's worth potentially losing the friendship if the other person doesn't have the same feelings. Here's how I always answer the question... would you rather just be friends for the rest of your life or have a shot at a romance?

If just being friends is good enough for you, then there's no reason to risk the friendship. But if you'll always want more, than shouldn't you go for it? After all, the friendship will never satisfy you anyway. What do you think? Should you risk a friendship for the chance at a relationship?
